Dakota Johnson Gave Olivia Colman Her First Tattoo At a Cast Party.. Olivia Colman proved that you’re never too old to succumb to a little peer pressure from the cool kids, revealing that she agreed to let Dakota Johnson give her her first tattoo after a particularly wild cast party.
Johnson confessed to Town & Country that in October, after the New York Film Festival screening of her and Colman’s new film, The Lost Daughter, the whole cast celebrated with a dance party at the Italian restaurant Altro Paradiso in Soho with a playlist that featured “a lot of Talking Heads, the Cranberries.” Later that evening, back at the hotel, the actress also somehow managed to convince Colman to let her give her her first tattoo using her stick-and-poke tattoo kit. The Favourite star told the outlet of her reasoning behind the impulsive decision, “Maybe it was me being completely seduced by this gorgeous person and wanting her to think I was cool. Or maybe it was my midlife crisis.” But Johnson says that was all just part of the mood of the evening, explaining that they were just indulging in the “post-vaccine return to joy.” “The thing is, people are not behaving normally. If you go to a party, you fucking rage,” she explained.
The Fifty Shades of Grey actress added that dance parties have become something of a tradition amongst The Lost Daughter cast ever since the film’s premiere at the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado earlier this year. Netflix offered to pay for a cast dinner, but the film’s writer and director, Maggie Gyllenhaal, “was like, ‘Instead of having a dinner, let’s have a dance party,’” Johnson told the magazine. They invited the cast and crew from other movies playing at the festival as well, including The Power of the Dog stars Kirsten Dunst and Benedict Cumberbatch, and Johnson’s old co-star, Jamie Dornan.
