According to reports, the pensioner was attacked when the two dogs escaped from their residence.
Police spokesperson Captain Marchell Rhode said the dogs escaped from their owner’s yard in Hadeda Street, Durbanville and attacked the man, biting his face and feet. Rhode said the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals(SPCA ) would now remove the dogs after police had opened an inquest into the man’s death, News 24 reports.
The Tygerburger reported further that the actual cause of death may have been a heart attack, however, an inquest would soon determine the cause of the man’s death.
