Euro 2020: Germany beat Portugal as France fail to defeat Hungary. Germany on Saturday evening defeated Portugal 4-2 at Euro 2020 to move to second position in Group F.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s first-half goal was not enough as Germany defeated Portugal at Allianz Arena, thanks to goals from Ruben Dias (OG), Raphael Guerreiro (OG), Kai Havertz and Robin Gosens.
Diogo Jota did score a goal for Portugal in the second half.
Meanwhile, in the other Group F game played earlier, France failed to beat Hungary at the Ferenc Puskás Stadium.
Didier Deschamps’s men were left stunned by Hungary and was forced to settle for a draw after Barcelona forward, Antione Griezmann cancelled out Atilla Fiola’s first-half goal.
But the draw wasn’t the only blow for the World champions, who lost Dembélé to injury despite the Barcelona star only coming on as a substitute.
The result means France are still on top of Group F with four points from two games.
Hungary, on the other hand, are occupying the last position with two points behind third-place, Portugal.
