Kings Of Joburg ‘Mogomotsi Masire’ Actor Zolisa Xaluva Recalls Shona Ferguson’s Advice On Handling Haters
Veteran actor Zolisa Xaluva has recalled the advice he received from the late Shona Ferguson on how to handle hate.
The arts industry comes with fame,hate and Shona Ferguson being a veteran in the sector, gave Zolisa Xaluva life-changing advice.
Xaluva who has played a number of roles on the big and small screen over the years recalled the advice he received from Ferguson. He paid tribute to the late Kings of Joburg actor and producer in a post on his official social media account.
Shona passed away in July last year from Covid-19 IHarare complications. His untimely demise sent shockwaves across South Africa with fans and industry peers paying tribute to the veteran actor.
Zolisa Xaluva who played Shona Ferguson’s younger brother Mogomotsi “Mo” Masire in the first season of the Netflix series Kings of Joburg, recalled the late actor’s advice on dealing with hate.
Recalling a fond memory of his on-screen brother, Zolisa Xaluva said he missed the late actor especially now. He recalled how he would advise him to embrace the love in the midst of the hate.
Taking to social media, Zolisa Xaluva wrote:
It’s at times like these I miss this guy. He would always say: ‘For each hater you have you have 1,000 people who love you. Embrace their love. Throw away the hate’. Thanks to my loyal family. My supporters. My friends. Let’s keep going.

In Kings of Joburg, Shona Ferguson starred as Simon Masire. In Related news, Ferguson Films kicked off production of the second season of Kings of Joburg in June this year.
Since Shona’s death, Connie Ferguson often takes to social media to reflect on how she is coping without her husband.
