Speaking to TRUELOVE, Moshe reveals that Sugar had died after being bitten by a bigger dog. The actor also says that Sugar’s passing had affected him and his family members greatly.

“I’ve had Sugar for five years and he was my baby. I got him at a time where I really really needed a loyal companion and at a time where everything in my life was going really well, so I thought I should just get a dog. I’ve always been a dog lover so it was a very natural decision for me,” he tells TRUELOVE before explaining how his puppy’s death had affected him.

“It’s been tough for my family and more especially for me because Sugar was my baby but we’ll be okay,” he says.

While most people would just bury their pets in the yard and have a small send-off, the Gomora actor – who used the services of popular events and décor planner Nono Events – says it was important to him to host a luxurious funeral service for his pup.

“A luxurious send-off was definitely befitting for Sugar. He deserved it and that’s what I wanted to do for him and I believe in doing things that I want with my life and my money. I had to get Nono Events, the best in the game for my pup,” he shares.

Although the bubbly actor does not plan to get another pet dog anytime soon, he says that nothing could ever replace Sugar. He’s focusing on his acting career and other projects.

On portraying his character of Mr Faku on Gomora, Moshe says he enjoys bringing the down-and-out teacher’s role to life.

“Playing Andile Faku has been absolutely great. I’m having so much fun on set and even off set when we’re not acting but just chilling with the cast members and the crew members, they are a beautiful bunch and are family. I’ve been loving playing Mr Faku,” he explains. He also reveals that he draws inspiration for his character from someone close to him.

“There is someone close to me whom I draw inspiration from. She’s such a gem and when I watch her at a casino I see how happy she is, but unlike Mr Faku, she doesn’t have a gambling addiction. I also did my research on the character and went to the casino for the first time in my life and tried it out but also understood why going there … [is] an addiction and sickness because you keep wanting to get lucky. Mr Faku is going through a lot and has a big attitude problem too,” he laughs.

For the rest of the year, Moshe will still be appearing on Gomora and on Honey TV’s 7 Colours show.

“I also hope to do more things with Nedbank after youth month. The campaign we’re doing is amazing and we’re hyping up people’s hustles who are from different waka of life and are staying strong in their hustles,” he concludes.
