Premier League Predictions: HypeGist Picks Top Four And Highest Goal Scorers… The clubs that could finish in the English Premier League top four this 2022/23 season and the players that could finish top scorers have been revealed.
The EPL 2022/23 season kicks off today (Friday) with 20 clubs competing for the English top-flight title.
Arsenal and Crystal Palace will open the new Premier League campaign tonight as both teams clash at Selhurst Park.
This new season will run from August to May 2023, with each team playing 38 matches.
Recall that Manchester City won the Premier League title last season with a point ahead of second-placed Liverpool, Chelsea (third), and Tottenham Hotspur (fourth).
The likes of Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Tottenham’s Son Heung-min finished as top-joint scorers with 23 goals each ahead of Man United’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Tottenham’s Harry Kane, who finished third and fourth highest goal scorers with 18 and 17 goals respectively.
However, HypeGist reports teams that could finish in the top four and players to win the Golden Boot for the highest goal scorer.
The first team will be Manchester City, who won the Premier League title last season.
Pep Guardiola’s side won the title without a natural top centre-back forward last season.
With the new addition of striker Erling Haaland to the Man City squad this summer, the Citizen can retain the Premier League title because the Norway international can guarantee at least 25 goals for the Premier League champions.
The second team to finish behind Man City will be Liverpool, who signed striker Darwin Nunez from Benfica.
Nunez’s arrival saw the departure of another top forward, Sadio Mane, who joined Bayern Munich.
The teams to finish in third and fourth positions will be Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
Chelsea recruited Raheem Sterling and Kalodou Koulibaly and extended Cesar Azpilicueta’s contract on Thursday. It is a major boost for manager Thomas Tuchel.
The Blues are also expected to bolster their squad before the summer transfer window closes on September 1.
Tottenham, meanwhile, with their manager, Antonio Conte, have what it takes to finish in the top four this season.
Conte recently signed the likes of Ivan Perišić, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, and Clément Lenglet this summer.
The Italian, who replaced Nuno Espirito Santo last November, won 17 of his 28 league games in charge as Spurs finished in the fourth position ahead of Arsenal last season.
On the player to finish top scorer this season, HypeGist picked Haaland ahead of Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah (second) and Tottenham’s Harry Kane (third).
The Norway international has a better chance to finish ahead of Salah and Kane. Kane will have to compete with teammate Son, while Salah will definitely compete with Nunez, which gives Haaland a boost to win the Golden Boot this season.
The 22-year-old has word-class midfielders to give him the necessary services upfront and also If Haaland is on penalty duties for Man City, which could be key.
