“We’re thrilled to premiere an epic game show like The Saturday Showdown on Mzansi Magic – something to keep our viewers entertained and engaged. It’s the kind of show that will appeal to viewers across age and interest – be they into sports or pop culture. Produced by Red Pepper Pictures, The Saturday Showdown is a fun and games, laugh-a-minute game show that’s also a fierce battle between very competitive teams who are fighting for the life changing prize money. So, how will it work exactly? Five teams comprising of three players  including a DSTV rewards studio player will face off over 13 episodes.

The teams will go head-to-head in a series of games testing skills, such as shooting hoops, luck (think: big wheel spins), puzzles and pop culture activities (karaoke, anyone?) All this culminates in a face off where the teams go head to head in a game that encapsulates all of the above. Who will emerge victorious?

Tune into The Saturday Showdown every week from 4 June at 18:30, on Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161). Welcome to your new favourite game show – who will you be rooting for?
