The South Africans claimed that AKA contributed massively to Burna Boy’s success and made him into a “monster” when he featured him on his 2014 hit song “All Eyes on Me.” The song also featured Da L.E.S and JR.

However, this claim was met with widespread incredulity and ridicule on social media.

Some social media users mocked the South Africans for trying to raise the profile of one of their own by downplaying Burna Boy’s prodigious talent.

They argued that Burna Boy was already big before he met AKA and that he has made massive trends worldwide, which AKA is yet to make. Some also questioned why AKA has not achieved the same global fame if he was indeed responsible for Burna Boy’s fame and success.

These are AKA biggest songs, and two of them have Burna boy. Burna boy “on the low” song has more stream’s than all of them together, nigga 😄😄🤣 Burna boy put AKA to the world. AKA is no where near Rema over here. Tell him to beg Burna so he can be relevant for once in his life.

@Heydavinaa_

AKA only introduced South Africans to Burna. years on Burna is miles ahead of him and has performed on stages AKA could only dream of.

Trying to give AKA credit for Burna Boy is a disgusting leave dick riding

@mnumzane_camble

Look man. I would not say CREATED, but he played a very big role in his career when Nigeria refused him.. Burna came to SA and really ran with the winners making some great ground breaking records and kept it moving after AKA..

AKA was definitely bigger than him even in Nigeria

@megacy

I am an AKA but I’m not this delusional

AKA didn’t create Burna boy, we just knew him after he made a song with him

JR saw the raw talent and knew AKA definitely need to do a song with him

If he created him then why can’t he create another one??

@CertiTriggerz

All Eye on Me is what it’s is today because of burnaboy…. SA are just claiming burnaboy.

You are giving AKA too much credit. Burna Boy was destined to make it with or without AKA. The monster was already there.

@papixchuloo

Stop reaching Fam. Burna in 2014] was already bigger than AKA globally especially in the UK. Nigerian Artists are on a different scale fam, the only thing AKA did was introduce Burna to SA that’s it and Burna Carried Mega on that joint and not the other way around.
