SuperSport CEO Slams Sipho Mbule: He’s Unreliable, Won’t Play For Club Again! SuperSport CEO Stan Matthews has delivered a scathing statement confirming that Sipho Mbule will not feature for the club again.
The saga surrounding midfielder Sipho Mbule at SuperSport had recently a new twist after he was suspended indefinitely by the club.
Mbule was one of the players who was at the centre of numerous stories during the transfer window, withMatthews delivering a scathing review of his conditioning after the Christmas break.
Speaking to SA FM last year, Matthews said Mbule’s ill-discipline is the reason he would not be sold to any club at this stage, despite having reportedly been on the radar of both Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns in this past January transfer window.
Mbule may be one of the well-known figures in Kaitano Tembo’s team, but after a long absence from action dating back to November 2021, he recently featured in his first match of the year, and some thought it may mark a turning point for him.
Yet, Matthews revealed last week that discipline issues were the reason behind the player being absent from training this week.
Now, in an interview on the METROFMSA Sports Show, the CEO reiterated that Mbule is not in the right head space, was unreliable and would not feature again for the club.
He added that it was suspected that Mbule may be trying to force a move away from the club, while even suggesting “we’d rather play without him and finish lower in the league”.

“Sipho has been excused from training until further notice for disrespecting his teammates and the technical team,” Matthews had told TimesLIVE last Wednesday evening.
